A listing agreement is a document in which a property owner contracts with a real estate broker to find a buyer for the owner's property. The owner executes the listing agreement to give a real estate broker the authority to act as the owner's agent in the sale of the owner's property. Listing means the admission of securities of a company to trading on a stock exchange. Listing is not compulsory under the Companies Act 2013/1956. It becomes necessary when a Public Limited Company wants to issue shares or debentures to the public. When securities are listed on a stock exchange, the company has to comply with the requirements of the exchange. In the listing agreement, there is a provision of promptly notifying the stock exchange of short particulars on any increase of capital whether by the issue of bonus shares through capitalization, or by the way of right shares to be offered to the shareholders or debenture holder, or in any other way.
